YouTube: The Medium is the Message.

Looking at McLuhan’s theories in the age of YouTube, and how that compares to television, advertising and film. Placing an emphasis on how we watch something on YouTube, close up to our laptop screens or phones, hand on the controls, compared to television, where we tend to be further away in a relaxed state, and how that effects how we encode the message the medium is attempting to convey. In an age where formats such as YouTube are becoming just as, if not more, ubiquitous as television, this is something that we have to consider while the medium evolves, and be aware of how it influences our viewing experience.
